HOW IT WORKS: Community solar is very easy! Below is a step-by-step of how it works.
Developer builds a project
A developer builds a solar facility in a remote location, usually a big empty field or on top of a warehouse.
Community green links you up with the project
Community Green virtually links you up with the solar facility, so you can start receiving solar credits on the invoice you already get from your local utility company. As the solar facility produces energy, you continually receive credits that lower your monthly utility invoice. In this case, each house or business is receiving 2 credits.
We Collect for the developer who invested in the project
Community Green charges you for a portion of those credits every month on behalf of the developer. This is how a developer gets paid for the investment they made in building the solar facility. In this example we are collecting 1 credit from each house or business.
You SAve Money!
You keep the remaining credits! These are real, tangible savings just for being a part of our program, free of cost to you! In this example, each house and business gets to keep 1 credit!
Benefits of Joining: You get many benefits for joining our program.
You will save money! We guarantee that the amount of credits you receive every month will always be greater than the amount we charge you.
You will be directly supporting clean, renewable energy that is local to your community. This means cleaner air, water and land for future generations.
You will be supporting local businesses. These projects are local to your community, the jobs of installing and maintaining these systems will directly benefit your local community as well.
No installation on your property or expensive maintenance needed, the solar facility is completely remote.
Billing example:
